On Monday, a public memorial service was held inside L.A.’s Staple Centre where, twenty thousand people gathered to celebrate the lives of Kobe and Gigi.

According to CNN, “NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were buried Friday at a Southern California cemetery following their deaths.  Their resting place is Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California, the documents state. The cemetery is about two miles from the Pacific Ocean and less than a 10-minute drive from the family’s church, Our Lady Queen of Angels, in Newport Beach.”

Vanessa Bryant on Kobe and Gianna Bryant, “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other.  He had to bring them home to have them together.”

 

 

Beyonce performed two of Kobe’s favourite songs – XO and Halo.

 

 

 

Sitting in front of a purple and gold piano, Alicia Keys played Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, a song Kobe learned to play for wife, Vanessa.

 

 

 

Christina Aguilera took the stage and performed, as requested, ‘Ava Maria’ in Italian.

 

 

 

Michael Jordan had everyone in tears, reminiscing about Kobe and sharing details about their last phone conversation.

 

 

 

Friend and team member Shaquille O’Neal spoke about his relationship with Kobe and their time together.

A week prior to the memorial service held inside the Staples Centre, Gianna’s school had their own memorial service, where students, teaches and coaches shared memories of Gigi.
