April 20 – June 17: Playing with Fire: A Flameworking Exhibition

Kingston Glass Studio & Gallery is proud to present its current exhibition Playing with Fire , featuring the work of glass artists Dan Sullivan, Emma Gerard, and Matthew Crossman. This show will highlight various skills, techniques and styles used in contemporary flameworking, a method of forming objects from rods and tubes of glass that are heated under a flame until malleable. As the Gallery’s first flameworking exhibition, Playing with Fire will introduce visitors not only to new artists but also to new ways of working with glass. May 23: Spring Community Grants Celebration

The Community Foundation for Kingston & Area would like to welcome you to come celebrate and connect at this year’s Spring Community Grants Celebration from 4:30-6:30 pm at the KFL&A Health Unit. We will be announcing the local charities and initiatives that will be receiving grants this year from our foundation, and awarding Jimmy Hassan our second Community Builder Award for his philanthropy here in Kingston. May 25: Heating Things Up for the Humane Society – Paw Casting

Kingston Glass Studio & Gallery presents its annual event in support of the Kingston Humane Society, Paw Casting! Bring your pet down to have their paws cast in glass for a one of-a-kind keepsake. It is an easy process where your furry friends push their paw print into sand and then molten glass is poured to create an imprint that will last forever. This event is in support of the Kingston Humane Society. The cost is Cost: $40 and $15 from every imprint sold will be donated to help support their important work. All participants are welcome, canines, cats, children and the young at heart! The event is from 9am – 4pm, but the workshop takes about 15 minutes per participant. May 25: Garage & Bake Sale

From 8-4 at 20 Hillcrest Ave. Kingston. Good assortment of items. All proceeds going to support *For The Love of Ferals.*  A donation box will also be there for anyone who wishes to donate canned cat food.  Rain date: Sunday May 26

 

May 26: Repair Cafe Frontenac Grand Opening

2pm – 4:30pm at St. James Major Catholic Church, 14608 County Rd 38, Sharbot Lake.  Repair Cafe is: repairing broken Items, professional advice, clothing, furniture, electronic appliances, toys, bicycles, et cetera.  Bring your broken items instead of throwing them away.  Cost?
