The 16th annual downtown winter celebration, Feb Fest will take over downtown for the entire month of February and continue into March during the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier.


Week 1: February 1st-7th

  • Imagination on Ice takes centre stage on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00pm featuring Canada’s most decorated female skater, Kaetlyn Osmond!
  • Symphony Spa will be hosting a 2020 Bridal Show from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, on Saturday, February 1st. They will also be featuring a Quebec style ice bar on their rooftop patio for the whole month of February
  • February 1st will also be the first week of Toast to Tapas – the theme is Cheese. Featured restaurants are Harper’s Burger Bar, BluMartini and The Grizzly Grill. Get your passport at any participating restaurant.
  • February 2nd it’s the Polar Plunge at 11:00am at Crawford Wharf (1 Brock St.) in support of The Special Olympics – “Freezin for a Reason” – www.polarplunge.ca/plunges/kingston
  • Learn to Skate on Sundays from 10:00am-11:00am, for those interested in trying something new! (16+)

  • Wanna warm up? Head over to The Screening Room at 4pm for the perfect movie on this day – Groundhog Day – starring Bill Murray or catch the Super Bowl on many TV’s in downtown bars and restaurants
  • Tuesday, February 4th from 6pm – 9pm is Today’s Hits/Jersey Night Theme Skate
  • Carr-Harris Cup at the Leon’s Centre at 7:30pm on Thursday February 6th. Tickets available at the box office and at Queen’s Athletic & Recreation Centre.

Week 2: February 8th-14th

  • The big focus this week is on hockey!
  • On Saturday, February 8th, it’s Hockey Day in Kingston with local atom and novice boys and girls taking to the rink (8:30am-12:30pm)
  • Historic Hockey Tournament will also take place that afternoon with games between Queen’s, RMC and CFB Petawawa (1:00pm-3:00pm)
  • Hockey legend Gary Leeman will be on site signing autographs from 11:00am-12:00pm and 1:30pm-2:30pm
  • You will have the oppourtunity to Skate with the Fronts! from 4:00pm-5:00pm
  • NEW this year! Maple Leafs Fan Zone from 10am – 6pm on Saturday February 8th and 10am – 3pm on Sunday February 9th. Enjoy skating on a synthetic pop-up rink (no experience or skates required!), Leafs Mobile Fan Zone (set up like the Maples Leafs’ dressing room) and special alumni appearances!
  • This is week two of Toast to Tapas. The theme is Whiskey. Featured restaurants are Chez Piggy, Atomica and Union. Get your passport at any participating restaurant.
  • Learn to Skate on Sunday from 10:00am-11:00am, for those interested in trying something new! (16+)
  • Easter Seals Skate on Sunday, February 9 from 12:00pm-1:00pm
  • Sledge Hockey Demo from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, February 9
  • Tuesday, February 11th from 6pm-9pm is Disney Theme Skate 
  • Curling Demos begin on Thursday February 13th from 6 – 8pm at Springer Market Square.
  • Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Date Night Skate Night (Friday Feb. 14th) from 6:00pm-10:00pm
  • Learn to Skate on Sundays from 10:00am-11:00am, for those interested in trying something new! (16+)

Week 3: February 15th-21st 

  • The third weekend is Family Day weekend with activities for everyone to enjoy!
  • Saturday the 15th will showcase Ringette Demos from 1pm – 2:30pm.
  • Curling Demo takes place Saturday, February 15th from 6pm – 8pm at Springer Market Square.
  • This is week three of Toast to Tapas. The theme is Beer and participating restaurants are Chien Noir Bistro, Amadeus, The Public House and The Loft. Get your passport at participating restaurants.
  • An Artsy Afternoon is on Sunday the 16th from 2:00pm-5:00pm in many downtown galleries and businesses that will be featuring original pieces of art. Begin or continue your original art collection!
  • Family Day Monday will feature activities for the whole family from marshmallow roasting, outdoor games, photo opportunities, cozy warming stations, horse drawn wagon rides, learning to dance, skating, and more!
  • Learn to Skate on Sundays from 10:00am-11:00am, for those interested in trying something new! (16+)
  • Tuesday, February 18th from 6pm-9pm is Through the Decades Theme Skate

Week 4: February 22nd-29th

  • This is week four of Toast to Tapas. The theme is Bacon. Featured restaurants are Dianne’s Fish Shack & Smokehouse, Olivea and Aqua Terra. Get your passport at participating restaurants.
  • Ice Stock Demo takes place at Springer Market Square on Saturday February 22nd from 2pm – 4pm.
  • Come Play Shinny! Saturday February 22nd from 4:30 – 5:30pm for 16+, Sunday February 23 from 1:30 – 2:30 10 – 13 years and 4:30 – 5:30 pm 16+. Helmets are mandatory.
  • Learn to Skate on Sundays from 10:00am-11:00am, for those interested in trying something new! (16+)
  • Men with Brooms (featuring members of The Tragically Hip) plays Sunday February 23rd at 4pm at The Screening Room

  • Tuesday, February 25th from 6pm-9pm is Movie Soundtracks Theme Skate

Other Feb Fest Avtivities

  • Every Tuesday (Feb. 4th – March 3rd) will feature a Themed Skate Night from 6:00pm-9:00pm
  • Themes will include: Disney Night, Soundtrack Night, Through the Decades (70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s), Today’s Hits which will also be Jersey Day to sport your favourite jerseys, and a very special 2020 Tim Hortons Brier “Rock’n at the Rink” Night (rock, get it!?). We encourage everyone to dress up, get out, and enjoy the weekly themed nights
